Organic Electronic Materials and Devices

Organic electronic devices, including light-emitting diodes, photovoltaic cells, and field-effect transistors, have many important applications, such as in high-quality display and solar cell technologies. Organic electronic devices have the advantages of low fabrication cost and high mechanical flexibility, and organic electronics is also called flexible electronics. We are interested to the development and characterization of high-performance materials and devices. The organic electronic materials include conducting polymers, light-emitting organic/polymeric materials, and solar cell materials, and the organic electronic devices include photovoltaic cells and light-emitting diodes.  A polymer light-emitting diode   Metal and semiconductor exhibit size-dependent electronic structure and properties at the nanometer size. Iam interested in the snthesis, characterization and engineering of metal or semiconductor nanoparticles.

Nanometer Materials

Nanometer materials have been attracting strong attention due to their fascinating structure and properties. We are interested to the development and characterization of functional nanometer materials, nanocomposites, and application of these materials. Examples of our research include the polymer/nanoparticle memory devices and polymer/carbon nanotube composites.

Energy Materials and Devices

We are interested to develop energy devices to solve the problems related to energy and environment. Particularly, we are interested to the development of high-performance materials and devices for the third-generation solar cells, that is, organic photovoltaic cells and dye-sensitized solar cells, since they provide unique solutions for cheap and renewable energy.
